Still not sleeping

David is growing FAST! He is 8 months old now and I have no idea where the time went. His head is massive and he's pretty tall too. He's sitting up great but doesn't crawl yet though he does roll around alot. We were considering taking him to visit his grandparents in Vegas but I don't think he's ready for air travel yet. He's too fidgety when he's forced to sit still. In fact, don't think he could sit still for 20 minutes let alone a couple of hours on a plane. Anyway, he had his first Halloween and we got him a costume as a dinosaur. Very cute. Went to my boss's party and he seemed to enjoy it. Otherwise, another month of watching him grow and hit milestones. Hopefully the sleeping milestone is coming up soon! Check out the photos.

David's 7th month has been great. He's getting big and sits up pretty steady now. Though he still occasionally falls over. He's also starting to make motions like he wants to crawl. Won't be long now till we're chasing him all over the house. Otherwise, no major events. He still doesn't sleep more than a few hours at a time so Mary is definitely feeling the pain from that. But, he's healthy and happy so we can't complain too much! Please check out the pictures.

Six months!

Its kind of unbelievable that Little D is 6 months old. He's doing great and is even starting to sleep a little (thought he still wakes up 3-4 times per night). It took us having to sleep with him in our bed. A small sacrifice for some shut-eye. As you can see he's fat and happy and smiles and giggles alot.

August came and went without too much excitement and then Gustav came to Louisiana in early September and washed out my brother and sister's visit to the "Patch". The eye of the storm came directly over Shreveport. This was actually a blessing for us since the winds were not that strong by the time it got to us and most of the rain came down east of the eye. We did get a little wet but nothing major. Hopefully, Jim and Anita can reschedule soon to see Little D before he goes off to college. Check out the new photos!

A short visit from Grandma and Grandpa

Well, Little D turned 5 months on Monday. He's doing great with everything except sleep. He generally sleep about 2 - 3 hours at a time before waking up, screaming although last night he slept for 5 hours straight! Needless to say, we hope that is a trend. My Mom and Dad came down for a short visit in July. It was nice to see them with Little D. We expect a visit from his Uncle Jim and Aunt Anita in early September when it's a little cooler. Otherwise, not much more to add. He's growing like a weed and is still cute as a buttercup. He's starting to roll over and sit up with assistance so it won't be long before we have chase him all over the new house. Check out the new photos on the right.

Its been a while

Well, sorry for the lack of posts. The last 2 months have been crazy at home and work. Since the last post, David Lucas has developed a milk protien allergy that required us to change him from exclusively breastmilk to non-milk based formula. Mary has gone on a no milk diet (which is harder than it sounds) so she can continue to breast feed as well. He seems to be adapting well though initially it was pretty rough.

Right now, Little D seems to be a morning person. Not sure where he got that from. He wakes up around 5am every day and is smiling and wide awake. He sleeps well between 7pm to midnight but then all hell breaks loose. He wakes up every 2-3 hours after that. God bless Mary as she takes all the night call and is still able to function the next day. I somehow seem to sleep through most of the awakenings.

Anyway, he turned 100 days on Tuesday and we had a photographer come for some professional pictures. He didn't really cooperate well as the photo session was at 4pm which is right when he starts getting a little cranky before going to bed. I think we got some good shots, though.

Also, Mary and I have bought a new house that we are moving into on June 28th. I wish I could say I sold my old house but we're keeping that so Mary's parents can move in and will no have to pay rent. The two houses are only a mile or so from each other so the convenience factor is great. The new house is nearly twice as big as our old house which I think we need desperately as the walls started closing on us once Little D was born.

I have uploaded a bunch of new photos so please have a look at how he's grown. It's amazing!

One month down

Well, David turned 1 month old on April 3rd last week. He is officially getting chubby. He eats well and sleeps a little more than before. He is a very good boy most of the time. Still cute as can be and he seems to recognize Mom and Dad more and more. Still, all he does is eat, sleep, pee and poop. He did smile at us the other day which was pretty cool.

Mary and I put a bid on a new home that's slightly bigger to give us more space and so Grandma and Grandpa can occupy our current home. To our suprise, the owner accepted our low-ball offer! Now I have to come up with a 20% down payment! We're really looking forward to moving into our new home and think little D will be more comfortable there.

Hope you enjoy the new photos. I'll put more up later this month.

Week 3

Okay, I've switched web posting services. The other one was way too cumbersome. We'll see how this goes.

David Lucas is doing well. At his 2 week checkup he was 7lbs 1 ounce and 191/4 inches long. Our pediatrician suspected he had some reflux due to his "overfeeding" and placed him on Axid which he doesn't like very much. He does get cranky after some of his feedings but he doesn't really spit up much. He has more gas than any human being ever, though and I think he feels better after he passes it.

As far as sleep, well, there's not much of that going on. Especially at night. He's fairly calm and manageable during the day but at night...all hell breaks loose and he basically cries from feeding to feeding. This has gotten a little less so over the past few days so maybe we're seeing an improvement. I've got my fingers crossed since Mary and I both are in need of sleep (Mary more than me).

That's all for week 3. Check out the photos. I think they're better organized here than before. http://picasaweb.google.com/ddkim1 Thanks for visiting.
